Spring, summer and fall are great times to golf in the Truckee area where there is a variety of courses. Only two miles from downtown Truckee, Coyote Moon Golf Course is a challenging but fair test of Lake Tahoe golf. The golf course was designed by Brad Bell, a former PGA Tour player, well known for creating highly praised golf courses around the central valley. Another local favorite near downtown Truckee is the Ponderosa Golf Course. The course is a 9 hole, beginner and intermediate friendly course.
