Hop over to Western Gateway Park in Penn Valley for a beloved Easter tradition that’s brought families together for generations. The free community Easter Egg Hunt kicks off at 9:30 AM with more than 6,000 eggs hidden for kids ages 1 to 12, plus grand prize baskets and special surprises for every child. Arrive early at 9:00 AM to enjoy crafts, balloon animals, face painting, and breakfast snacks before the hunt begins. And keep an eye out for the Easter Bunny, arriving by fire truck and sticking around for family photos.

The day begins at Truckee River Regional Park with a visit from the Easter Bunny at 11:00 AM. The egg hunt follows at 11:30 AM, when thousands of eggs are hidden across the park for different age groups. Families will also enjoy free face painting, candy, and prizes during the outdoor festivities. After the hunt, head to the Truckee Community Pool at 1:00 PM. It’ll be time for the Egg Dive, where kids can splash and search for floating eggs in the pool.
