One eye-opening event that took place on October 12th is "WASTED: A Haute Trash Experience."
Founder Susan Lamela was inspired while repairing a designer suit. Frustrated by the poor craftsmanship of the expensive garment, she declared, “I could do better than this with trash!”
This event showcased a rich history of recycled fashion, inviting designers from across the country. Through theater, dance, and satire, Haute Trash challenged perceptions of waste and consumerism, urging a shift toward sustainable practices.

While Nevada City`s historic downtown attracts first-time visitors, another area worth exploring is the Seven Hills Business District. The Seven Hills Business District is located along Zion Street to Gold Flat Road, taking in Argall Way, Searls Avenue, Lower Grass Valley Road. Easy access is via the Gold Flat Road off-ramp from the Golden Center Freeway.
