Season for Camping

Thanks to its low elevation, camping here isn’t just a summer activity—it’s something you can enjoy year-round. Each season offers its own unique experience. In the summer, visitors come to escape the heat and cool off with a dip in Rollins Lake. In the winter, as the crowds thin out, fishing picks up, making it a great time for bank fishing or trolling. Looking ahead, reservations for the upcoming season typically open around the first week of January.

General Things to Know

Because Rollins Lake is extremely popular in the summer, it’s important to plan ahead and book your campsite or lodging well in advance. Burn Bans

Please note that fire restrictions—also known as burn bans—can be put in place at any time due to hot, dry weather, PSPS events, power outages, or poor air quality. During these bans, campfires and charcoal fires are not allowed, and violations can result in fines. In extreme conditions, even propane use may be restricted. These seasonal burn bans can begin as early as May and often last through November or beyond.
