Boca Reservoir

Located in the Tahoe National Forest just East of Truckee, Boca was created by the construction of Boca Dam across the Little Truckee River. Boca is open year-round yet frozen during winter. Fishing season is year-round, with ice fishing available during the winter. Species of interest to anglers include kokanee salmon, rainbow, brook, and brown trout.

There are four campgrounds surrounding the reservoir: Boca Campground, Boca Rest Campground, Boca Springs Campground, and Boyington Mill Campground.

Location: seven miles East of Truckee on I-80, take the Hirschdale exit. Drive 1.5 miles to (paved) Stampede Dam Road and either go straight along Boca’s East shore or turn left and travel across the dam.
