The ninth annual Nevada City Chinese Lunar New Year Festival and Parade welcomes the Year of the Rat, 4718, on Sunday, February 9, 2020, on Commercial Street and at the Miners Foundry Cultural Center.  Chinese New Year festivals are unique in rural communities, and Community Asian Theatre of the Sierra, along with the Miners Foundry, are proud to present this family-friendly celebration, honoring the early Chinese Gold Rush pioneers and railroad workers of the Sierra. The mini-community parade begins on Commercial Street at 12:00 noon, near the giant Pelton wheel, at the intersections of Commercial, Coyote, and Union streets, and ends at the Miners Foundry, for an afternoon of entertainment, food, and fun!  Admission at the Foundry is free, and donations are gladly accepted.
