Holiday Magic at Empire Mine

Empire Mine State Historic Park invites you to partake in holiday magic at Empire Mine with the fun festivities offered during Holidays at Empire Mine, a two-day event hosted Thanksgiving weekend, 11:00am – 4:00pm, November 29th and 30th, 2019.

With turn of the century themed decor, docents in period attire, festive music, and traditional holiday activities, there’s something for everybody!

Santa and Mrs. Claus will be waiting for you in the Clubhouse, so make sure you tell them everything that’s on your list! Additionally, surrounding the Clubhouse will be fun activities for all ages. Join us in chestnut roasting, coloring, creating a wishlist, yummy concessions, and fun photo ops!

Make sure you check out the Empire Cottage, which is having a can’t miss open house! Filled with holiday cheer and decor, living history docents will be dressed up and in character for you to interact with. Enjoy the wonderful live music from Kelly Flemming on Friday, and Heather MacAdam on Saturday in the formal dining room during your visit.

Also recommended is a visit to the Mineyard, where the blacksmiths are hard at work happily demonstrating their craft. With the historic buildings and equipment on display, it is a perfect way to learn the park’s history while enjoying the day’s festive activities.

Holidays at Empire Mine is graciously funded by the Empire Mine Park Association (EMPA). EMPA’s dedication to the Empire Mine has helped to better the park since 1976. The volunteers involved with the association are what make events like this come together.
