The Downtown Holiday Market (formerly known as Holiday Open House) takes place this Saturday, November 10, from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. in historic downtown Grass Valley. Merchants will offer special sales, giveaways, raffle prizes, entertainment. Balloons will mark the stores that are offering specials. Participating merchants include Art Works Gallery, Mill Street Clothing, Heart & Home, Lola and Jack and Junk in the Trunk, Tess’s Kitchen Store, Bamboo Home Store, Dovetail Design, His. a gentleman’s sundry, Foothill Mercantile, Grass Valley Brewing Co., La Te Da, William’s Stationary, Stucki Jewelers, The Book Seller, Yuba Blue, and more!
The event is a kick-off to the holiday shopping season. Participating merchants will have a variety of specials, such as door prizes, raffle prizes, sales, entertainment, and pop-up shops within shops. It encourages people to shop local and see what your downtown merchants have to offer for gifts and experiences. It’s a fun way to spend the day with friends and family.
What’s unique about shopping downtown is the atmosphere in a historic district. You get a sense of the history, and the personal small town touches.
Tangible sights and smells accompany the warmth of each merchant’s carefully curated shop, restaurant or tasting room.
There is also the experience of seeing what is new in downtown. Several new businesses have opened, or are on the precipice of opening in time for our holiday events Cornish Christmas and the WinterFest daytime family event.
