Scenic Stampede Reservoir, located on the Little Truckee River on the East slope of the Sierra Nevada, is one of the premier reservoirs for outdoor recreation enthusiasts. It sits just above Boca Reservoir and offers some of the best kokanee salmon fishing in the West! Stampede is legendary for both numbers and size of land locked sockeyes, but it also is known as a good spot to find (largely un-fished) stock of brown trout, rainbows and mackinaw. Check out Ox Bow loop at Logger Campground for primo camping sites, as these spots overlook the reservoir.
