The Penn Valley Rodeo — established in 1956 — is attended by those interested in rodeo, cowboys, horses, good clean family fun, and an interest in the Old West and the way things used to be.
Each year the attendance grows as the rodeo becomes more well known and includes all sorts of activities for the kids.
This year, Penn Valley Rodeo is celebrating its, 60th year, the Diamond Celebration, May 19-20. They are also hosting a Family Rodeo Sunday, May 21.
Keeping the celebration going throughout 2017, they will be hosting events throughout the year:
Miss Penn Valley Rodeo Queen competition May 6th.
The Mule and Donkey show June 23-25.
Barrel races are: June 4, July 9, August 13, August 27.
Gymhana are: June 17, July 15, August 19, September 16.
The Penn Valley Community Rodeo Association is an all-volunteer, non-profit created in 2005 to perpetuate the Penn Valley Rodeo. PVCRA improved the original rodeo site and maintains the grounds as a venue for community equestion events such as barrel racing, team penning, horse shows and clinics.
