Established in 1884 as the 17th District Agricultural Association, the Nevada County Fairgrounds in Grass Valley, California is home to the Nevada County Fair, the Draft Horse Classic, and the Country Christmas Faire. The Nevada County Fair has been around since 1938.
Today, recognized as “California’s Most Beautiful Fairgrounds,” with one of the top 10 rural fairs in America, the Nevada County Fairgrounds is situated among hundreds of pine trees on nearly 100 acres. There is also an RV Park, Lions Lake, rental facilities, weekly events, weddings, some of our community’s largest outdoor events, and lots of areas to walk.
The Nevada County Fairgrounds is near highways 80, 49 and 20, approximately a one hour drive from Sacramento. The Gentle Giant Monument marks the entrance to the Fairgrounds and symbolizes the spirit of California’s pioneers. The working horse played a large role during the California gold rush.
