Naughty Bawdy Revue

Keepin’ Nevada County naughty for two years!

The Naughty Bawdy Revue returns to the stage at The Dew Drop Inn from 8-11 p.m. on Saturday, July 27, for a birthday blow out!  Two years ago, Deirdre Von Derriere, founder and producer of The Naughty Bawdy Revue, happened to notice an “Under New Ownership” sign on a familiar roadhouse bar.  Calls were placed, friendships were made, stages were built and The Naughty Bawdy Revue was born!

Over the years, burlesque has been evolving.  Originally born out of satire, this art form has existed for many decades and has always incorporated, at its heart, an element of strip tease.  Live burlesque entertainment is a unique art form in that, unlike theatre, with a fourth wall that shall never be broken, burlesque REQUIRES the audience to break that fourth wall.  The performers are waiting, nay, they have choreographed their entire acts around expectation of participation from their audience.  If a burlesque show is doing its job correctly, both the audience and the performers will leave feeling really good about themselves.

For two years now, The Naughty Bawdy Revue has been doing just that and what better way to celebrate than by throwing a big, rowdy birthday bash!  Last year, The Great Breastival was born as a mini festival, commemorating the show’s success and celebrating one full year of Naughty Bawdy fun!  This year, we’ve pulled out all of the stops, with a rhinestone encrusted cast featuring headliners from Denver, CO, and we’ve added a sexy intermission side show featuring fire juggling, standup comedy, contortion and more!
