Tahoe Donner Announces its Summer 2019 Events Calendar

(June 3, 2019) Summer is around the corner and Tahoe Donner is hosting a wide variety of fun events and activities for all ages. Highlights include the 9th annual Summer Concert on the Green, Waterpalooza, Wild West Fest, Edi-Bōl dinner series, mountain bike and golf clinics, equestrian events and free wine tastings.

Women’s Mountain Bike Maintenance Series: June 6, July 11, Aug. 1
Routine bike maintenance keeps you riding smoothly and prolongs the life of your bike. This introductory class will help you take care of your bike before, during and after rides. Reservations call

FUN-damental Mountain Biking Clinic

(Age 8-10) Saturdays June 22, July 27, Aug. 24 | (Age 11-14) Sundays June 23, July 28, Aug. 25

Kids will learn skills and gain confidence as they go through mountain biking progressions including body and pedal position, shifting, braking, climbing, descending and navigating obstacles on the trail. Certified mountain biking instructors teach fundamentals, trail etiquette and general riding safety. Bring water, snacks and sunscreen. Reservations call 530-582-9694. Women’s Introduction to Mountain Biking Series – Part 1 | June 22, July 27, Aug. 24
Part 1 teaches basic techniques including shifting, braking, ascending, descending and maneuvering around obstacles. Learn important communication skills and mountain biking trail etiquette with the aim of keeping multi-use trails open and safe for everyone. There will be plenty of time on the trails riding and practicing these new skills. Reservations call 530-582-9694. Time: 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Cost: $149 per session.More info.

Women’s Introduction to Mountain Biking Series – Part 2 | June 23, July 28, Aug. 25
Part 2 reviews fundamentals and teaches advanced skills so you understand what you’re capable of on a bike. This session will involve more trail riding, helping you dial-in your technique and giving you more time to session tricky parts of the trails and find your flow! Reservations call 530-582-9694.

9TH Annual Summer Concert on the Green | July 5 & 6

Tahoe Donner’s biggest event of the year returns Friday and Saturday, July 5 and 6 featuring two nights of performances by today’s top tribute bands. 

  • Friday, July 5:
    Neon Velvet (Party Cover Band) with Woodie & The Longboards (Beach Boys tribute)  
  • Saturday, July 6:
    Hollywood U2 (U2 Tribute) with The Fog City Swampers (CCR Tribute)  


Low back chairs and picnics are permitted. The Food Truck Zone features local vendors Morgan’s Lobster Shack, Starkey’s Stoked Pizza & Epic Sushi, MOGROG Rotisserie and Super Swirl Ice Cream.  Time: Doors open at 4 p.m. Music 6–10 p.m. Cost: Adult $40. Waterpalooza | Aug. 10

Gather your family, call your friends and put on your swimsuit for the return of Waterpalooza, a day of fun water games and activities to help you stay cool in the heart of summer. Enjoy slip and slides, water fight zone, field games like cornhole, water balloon toss, a flume zoom and food and beverage options. Time: 12-4 p.m. Cost: TBA early summer. More info.

Equestrian Meet + Greet | June 15

Meet the horses and staff, enter to win a trail or pony ride, and collect trading cards featuring the horses. Time: 5-7 p.m. Cost: Free event. More info.

Cowgirls and Cocktails | June 28, July 3, July 19, Aug. 9, Aug. 23, Sept. 20, Sept. 27

Cowgirls and cowboys are invited to gather for an early evening trail ride through highland meadows and forests followed by beer, wine and appetizers. This event is for adults ages 21 and up. Reservations call (530) 587-9470. Time: Trail ride 5-6 p.m. Drinks and appetizers from 6-7 p.m. Cost: Tahoe Donner members $69 per person. $85 per person for public. More info.

Pancakes and Ponies | July 6, July 27, Aug. 10, Sept. 14, Sept. 21

Bring the little ones and join us for a fun Saturday morning event. Enjoy a hearty breakfast of pancakes, bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, coffee and juice, followed by a pony ride for children ages 2-6. Come out for breakfast only or join both the breakfast and the 15-minute pony ride. A minimum of five participants are required with a maximum of 30. Reservations call 530-587-9470. Time: 9–11 a.m.

Saturday Night BBQ | July 13 and Aug. 3

Enjoy a fun, family-friendly evening of games, crafts, contests, and delicious food cooked to order. Event highlights include: Pony rides for ages 2-6 (must weigh less than 60 pounds), cornhole, piñata and games, family dress up and photo station, golden horseshoe hunt, and water balloon toss. BBQ menu includes hot dogs, veggie burgers and hamburgers with an extensive gourmet topping bar. Ranch beans, salads, desserts and campfire s’mores (conditions permitting) round out the menu. Wild West Fest | Aug. 31

Join cowboys, cowgirls and the Tahoe Donner and Truckee community for a Labor Day Weekend celebration for all ages. Enjoy a day of dancing, live music and entertainment, equestrian performances, a dress-up photo both and Western-style barbecue dinner. Additional activities for kids include pony rides, hands-on crafts and face painting. This event takes place at the beautiful Alder Creek Adventure Center in partnership with the Tahoe Donner Equestrian Center. Time: 4-8 p.m. Cost: TBA. Tickets go on sale early summer. More info.

Weekly Golf Clinics | Mid-June through early September

Golf clinics are approximately one hour and run weekly through Sept. 3. All clinics are $25 per student, payable at the Pro Shop. More info.

Soccer Golf | June 26   
It’s a cross between soccer and golf and it’s quickly becoming a new trend across the country. Tahoe Donner’s version will be held on a nine-hole course on the Tahoe Donner driving range. Soccer balls will be available, but if you have your own, please bring them. No soccer cleats. Time: TBA. Cost: $8 for kids, $10 for adults.

Family Fun Glow Golf | Aug. 31
Bring the family for dinner at The Lodge Restaurant & Pub then head out for putting and closest-to-the-pin contests with glowing golf balls to win great prizes. Time and cost to be announced soon at tahoedonner.com.

Family Movie Night | Every Friday starting Mid-June
Kids and adults—bring a favorite pillow and blanket to Northwoods Clubhouse, kick back, and enjoy both classic and new movies. Dinner and drinks can be purchased from Pizza on the Hill. All films are rated G or PG. Time: 6:30 p.m. Cost: Free event

Bingo on the Lawn | Mondays June 24-Aug. 26 (No bingo July 1)

Bring a blanket and join the excitement with free weekly bingo games on the lawn outside Northwoods Clubhouse. Order Pizza on the Hill for dinner and play for fun prizes. Time: 6:30-8 p.m. Cost: Free event.

Tenth Annual Fall Festival | October 12
Don’t miss one of Tahoe Donner’s biggest events of the year! There’s something for everyone at this annual harvest festival, including a pumpkin patch, carnival area, arts and crafts, games, festive food and seasonal beer offerings. Time: 11a.m. to 4 p.m. Cost: TBA this summer. More info.

Free Wine Tasting | June 21

Tahoe Donner Giving Fund’s 5th Annual Dinner & Silent Auction | July 18

Enjoy a fun evening of scrumptious food, convivial camaraderie, and a worthy cause. This year’s theme is All Aboard the Giving Fund Traina tie-in with the 150th anniversary of the transcontinental railroad. In keeping with this motif, the speaker is Jerry Blackwill from the Truckee Donner Railroad Society. Proceeds from the dinner and auction will go directly into the 2019 Grant Fund and will support worthy local area non-profits. Time: 6 p.m. Cost: $100 per person. Info and tickets.
