League of Women Voters to host “Constitutional Challenge” quiz fundraiser

The U.S. Constitution and all things related to American democracy are the themes of the League of Women of Western Nevada County’s first ever quiz fundraiser, to be held on Friday, May 3, at Gold Miners Inn in Grass Valley.  Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and the games begin at 7:00 p.m.

Everyone is invited to participate as either contestants or audience as the League challenges teams of six to eight players with quiz questions. Anyone who would like to be on a team will be placed on one.

Constitution Days Nevada City

Nevada City holds Constitution Days every year at Pioneer Park.

Fran Cole, League Programs Committee Co-Chair and an organizer of the event, advises participants to, “Brush up on your constitutional knowledge, review your Supreme Court history, and remember key events, people, and places that have shaped our democracy.”

The evening will feature prizes and special guests — The Famous Marching Presidents of Nevada City in full costume will create an ambiance of living history. Everyone is welcome to dress in early American costume.
