Twelve28 Kitchen Winemaker’s Dinner

Twelve28 Kitchen will be hosting their first ever winemaker’s dinner featuring the gourmet creations of chef Zach Sterner with the winemaker Brian Brakesman of Red Thread and Summit Lake Vineyards of Napa Valley. The first course will consist of local strawberries, buttermilk panna cotta, rhubarb gelee, micro arugula and black pepper breadcrumbs paired with a 2016 white zinfandel. The second course will include pappardelle paste with sautéed morel mushrooms, English peas, fava, house cured and smoked bacon, lemon, and grated cured farm egg served with a 2012 zinfandel. The third course is red wine braised short ribs, Yukon gold potato gratin, broccoli rabe, and black truffle herb jus cleverly paired with a 2014 Red Thread blend. For dessert, chef Zach has created a raisin date cake with orange chocolate mousse and bittersweet chocolate ganache bombe to be enjoyed with a 2006 Zinfandel port.

Nevada City Winery’s Winemaker Dinner

Join Winemaker Mark Foster from Nevada City Winery in the Stone Hall of the Miners Foundry for a Winemaker Dinner catered by Farm to Table Catering. It will be an elegant evening of fine dining and special wines.
The meal will feature Library and current release wines, giving diners the chance to taste the evolution of the wines. It will be a six-course meal with the wines spanning the vintages from 2008 through 2015.
The meal begins with North Coast Brut paired with Northern California Caviar topped with crème fraiche on Truckee Sourdough rounds and culminates with Dulcinea, a fortified dessert wine, accompanied by Dulcinea Truffles made by the Nevada City Chocolate Shoppe. In between there will be pan-seared scallops, wild mushroom pasta, duck two-ways, braised short ribs, and a cheese course. Wines will be Chardonnay, Sangiovese, Zinfandel, Syrah, and Petit Verdot.
Winemaker Mark Foster and Chef Carlos Trujillo worked closely planning a menu to showcase the wines.
Music will be provided throughout the evening by Paul Ong.
