Get Lucky in Love –The Miners Foundry Cultural Center will transform into the glitzy, glamorous Las Vegas of the 1950s for one night only starting at 6 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 10. Make your Valentine swoon with this intimate Rat Pack style cabaret show followed by late night dancing to the six-piece big band sounds of the “Swing Time Jazz Combo.” Dress up in your finest 50s glam and support the Miners Foundry Cultural Center in this “fun”draiser sure to be a great time for all. Valentine Erotique- An annual benefit for the North Columbia Schoolhouse Cultural Center happening this Friday, Feb. 10, this erotic extravaganza features an array of poetry, a chocolate dessert contest and other sensuous entertainment that you won’t want to miss. With a Drag Queen extraordinaire to emcee the evening’s variety of entertainment, a comedy performance by Casey Burke and burlesque by the Bow Tie Beauties and Untamed, this is not your ho-hum event. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. for drinks, desserts, and to view the Erotic Art Show. Show starts at 7:00 p.m.
Valentines Wine Walk- Grab your sweetheart, or a friend, and take a romantic stroll through the historic Downtown Grass Valley this Saturday, February 11, to enjoy the Valentines Wine Walk being hosted by the Downtown Wineries. From 4-7 p.m., tasting rooms will be pouring two complementary tastes of award winning wines. There will also be special pricing on red wines in each tasting room. The tasting rooms are encouraging patrons to wear red. Wear red and get entered in a raffle to win a free tasting. Participating tasting rooms include Avanguardia, Bent Metal Winery, Lucchessi, Sierra Starr, and Smith Vineyard.
151 Union Square is offering two Valentine’s events that are sure to make that special person in your life feel cherished. On Saturday, Feb. 11, they are hosting a special four-course dinner from 6-9 p.m. for $39.95 per person featuring wines from Mountain Peoples Wine and Beer while guests are serenaded with live music by Sols Duo. Or, you can go casual on Valentine’s Day itself with their Blue Jean and Burger event from 6-9 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 14. For only $24.95, you get a gourmet burger with a regular draft beer or house wine, appetizers, salad and dessert, with music by Jay Tausig.

Kane’s Bar and Grill is offering a Valentine’s Day dinner on Feb. 14 which will include soup or salad, a main course with several mouth-watering options such as Rack of Lamb, Veggie Wellington, Cordon Bleu, salmon, filet and lobster, and more, as well as a chef’s special dessert.
The Lodge Restaurant and Pub in Truckee is also doing a special Valentine’s Day menu with creations by Chef Lew. Reservations are strongly recommended.
The Owl Grill and Saloon will be doing a petite filet and lobster dinner special Feb. 10-14, as well as special craft cocktails and desserts, in addition to their regular menu.
For the outdoorsy couple, head up to the Tahoe Donner Cross Country Ski Area in Truckee for a romantic evening of snowshoeing to watch the sunset over Donner Lake. Meet at Alder Creek Adventure Center at 4:15 p.m. (4:00 if you need to borrow equipment) on Feb. 14 to caravan up to the trailhead. Dress in warm layers, including hats and gloves, and bring water and a headlamp. The cost for this romantic trek is only $25, which includes the guide and snowshoe rental if needed.
